Betseyville Sandal Valentino Rockstud Sandal
You know how a dupe never looks quite right? Maybe there’s an extra strap, or the heel isn’t quite as high, or perhaps the color is a little off. I’m calling it right now that these babies are going down in the dupe hall of fame for some of the best takes on a Valentino Rockstud I’ve seen! Let’s get really geeky here. Count those front studs on each sandal – four. Two buckled ankle straps. Connection to the back strap. Sigh. (Insert applause for Betsey.) I think sandals are one of the easier things to get right in a dupe because there is less opportunity for the leather to look fake or cheap. Also, I don’t know about you, but I beat my sandals to hell in the summer, so I also almost never think of sandals as an “investment shoe.” (If you’re going big on a spendy shoe, put your money into a nude pump.) Anyway, naturally you’re going to run not walk to your nearest target to fetch these little gems. They might still be around in stores in the nude color as well, but are sold out in it online. At least snag the black immediately, and wait for the compliments to roll in this summer.
Steve Madden Floral Sandals
Outfit ONE: Jacket (Similar HERE) || YSL Lip Stain || Skagen Watch ||Gucci Purse || Boyfriend Jeans
Outfit TWO: Stripe Dress (Work Option HERE) || Sunglasses || Tote || Buxom Lip Polish || Coin Pendant
I’m so ready for spring! In today’s ordered pair, we’re styling these gorgeous sandals. For the weekend, you’ll add a white tee to outfit one an be ready to go from day to drinks. The punchy pink Gucci purse is obviously an investment, but is surprisingly versatile and not too girly in that deeper fuchsia hue. Gorgeous. Pick up that watch ASAP because it’s under $60, and you’ll be wearing it all summer. These beauties were perfect to pair with that fun stripe dress in outfit two because the two prints together actually work as neutrals. Depending on your office environment, you might be able to get away with the dress option for work option I also linked from Ann Taylor, which after a personal try on, I can totally vouch for as a great office staple. I’m also blown away by the price point of that white tote – $14! It comes in a few different colors and could double as a grocery or small gym bag in a pinch!
Are you picking up some floral shoes this spring?
1|| Paolo Booties + Leather Moto Jacket + John Lewis Lace Skirt + Spike Wrap Bracelet + Ferragamo Bracelet + Bobbi Brown Blush
Ladies there are so many things we can learn from this outfit! One of the style solutions I employed here is mixing leather and suede. I think it looks a bit softer if you don’t wear a leather jacket with leather shoes, and spring is the perfect season to bust out those slouchy suede booties, but pair them with something that will keep you warm! Another trick I’m loving lately is getting high designer style for a minimal investment by picking up jewelry pieces from some iconic brands that still show their classic style! This Ferragamo piece is the perfect way to incorporate a little touch of design without flashy logos or having to spend thousands of dollars. This piece was $200! Lastly, I love soft makeup with a slightly tougher outfit, so the glowy Bobbi Brown brick is perfect for adding a touch of shimmer.
2|| John Lewis Sweater + Phillip Lim Wrap Blouse + Boyfriend Jeans + The Limited Necklace + Whistles Ring + Bobbi Brown Lip Crayon
I’m loving Bobbi Brown cosmetics in both of these sets because I think they are such a gorgeous brand to help get that spring glow! One of Bobbi’s mantra’s is “beautiful first!” which I love because it says that the brand doesn’t get too into crazy “fashion” colors without ensuring that a woman will first feel beautiful in whatever look she is creating! A surprise addition for me here is the Zara jeans – those are perfectly distressed! Destroyed boyfriend jeans can be a tough find because you can look like you ran into a cheese grater and/or they can be too slouchy and unflattering! These Zara’s give you an exact dose of the trend for a marvelous price point – $60! I loved perusing the Whistles website; they have some gorgeous pieces, many of which are made in a Kenyan factory supporting commerce in that country.
Which outfit from the ordered pair would you pick?
Per our chat earlier this week, I think tangerine plays marvelously with a deep pink. It takes down any “halloween” factor that orange can have, and moves it straight to chic brights territory. One of my favorite ways to make color combinations work beautifully is to find a piece that has a few different colors in them (and any piece called “Louboutin” generally does the trick, right?). Drawing from that standout piece you can add accessories in all its colors to have a polished look that isn’t too matchy matchy.
Tangerine gets a little edgier with the addition of a gorgeous white dress from Rick Owens and some rockstuds. One of my favorite reddish pink lips comes from YSL – #11 Rose Culte gives you a great color payoff without feeling like it falls to much to either color camp. For these reasons, it makes a lovely partner to our tangerine touches in this ordered pair.
These gorgeous booties are made special by their gold details and that extra long zipper pull. Let’s put these showstoppers to good use in this week’s ordered pair.
1|| Blush and black is classic combination that manages to look equal parts ladylike and edgy. The texture of this suede dress begs to be taken out in spring weather and stacking the spike bracelet with an investment timepiece balances maturity and playfulness. I own and love this scarf from Athleta, it’s an ideal texture for this time of year. Several of its colors are on a great sale right now, so both the black and cream are worth snatching up!
2|| This grey top is long enough to double as a dress or tunic, and simple extras of a gold chain choker and a classic Chanel cuff are all the completer pieces you need. I also can’t get enough of Nars Audacious in Anna, my go to everyday lipstick. If you haven’t taken the plunge on this line, run right out to your local Sephora and start swatching. You’ll gladly plunk down the plastic for the impressive staying power, texture, and punchy color.
